Chinedu Philip Onoyima is a US-based Nigerian writer from Enugu State. The founder of Dominus Press LLC, he has already published two novels in the United States before 'The Yellow Trumpet'. The novel follows Onyeoma, a successful engineer who leaves behind the comfort of life to volunteer for a missionary work in a remote village in Enugu. In this conversation with Ikenna Okeh, Onoyima reflects on what it means to debut in Nigeria, the place of African literature in the American literary market, the experiences that shaped 'The Yellow Trumpet', and his idea of what might constitute the ideal Great Nigerian novel.
